2022 Summer Opportunities

Kid’s College and Teen Scene

June 6 – July 28

Rose State is proud to offer our 20th year of summer camp opportunities to build your child’s imagination, creativity, and knowledge. Programs offered from June 6th to July 28th feature a wide variety of activities scheduled for each week-long camp taking place Monday through Thursday, ranging from STEM classes and video game design to sports, arts, and beyond. Students can enjoy courses like Aerospace Discovery, Archery, Candy Chemistry, 3D Printing, Drones, and more. 

Kids College is designed for children going into grades 1st-6th. Our Teen Scene program is geared specifically for preteens and teens going into grades 7th-10th. Small class sizes with 100% certified teachers!

$196 per week (includes drop-off and pick-up anytime between 7:30am – 5:30pm)

ROCK: the Earth 

June 6-10

Students entering grades 8 & 9, for the 22-23 school year, will participate in a FREE 5-day Academy designed around the foundation of Earth processes. Students will participate in various hands-on projects to build understanding and general interest in the following: Earth’s structure, The Rock Cycle, Soils, Erosion, Geologic Time, Natural Resources, Earth Science careers, and an Environmental perspective on Surface/Ground Water.

The Academy will have learning activities led by faculty from Rose State College, Oklahoma State University, and members from the Oklahoma Geological Foundation. Students will participate in peer-learning groups to develop collaborative skills important to scientific investigation.

Student success will be measured on engagement and genuine interest in the material. Students will leave this Academy with a deeper understanding of basic Geoscience principles, with confidence in learning and collaborating, and a genuine interest to learn more about the Earth.

Rockets and PI

July 18-22

Students entering grades 8 & 9, for the 22-23 school year will participate in a FREE 5-day Academy involving Rocket Design and Computer Coding for launch. Students will discuss scientific principles involving Lift, Wind Resistance, and Material Design as they work towards 3D Printing their own rocket.

Students will also learn about Computer Coding as they program and utilize a Raspberry PI for the launch sequence. Students will experiment with size and material of the build, as well as pressure variability for a successful launch. The final project will focus Student success on building confidence with peer-peer cooperative learning and overall viability of their design launch.

The students will launch their rockets at the end of the week in front of fellow participants and faculty. Family will be encouraged to attend.

Future Storm Raiders Summer Academy: Atmospheric Science Camp July 11-14 

  • 9:00am to 12:30pm
  • 15-20 Students Grades 7-12
  • Professor & Meteorologist Steve Carano will be teaching the classes with Jamie Fowler assisting.
  • Assist Students in discovering how Aerospace Technology works & why understanding the Weather plays a crucial part.

STEM with 3D Printing for Students and Family June 13-16 

  • 9:00am to 12:30pm
  • 15-20 Students Grades 7-12
  • Professor of Engineering Steven Fowler will be teaching the classes with Jamie Fowler assisting.
  • Students will have hands-on experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software & 3-D printing.
  • Instructors and staff will be available for questions from students and guests on Saturday June 18th from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
